Absolutely amazing flavours, this Low Carb family dish is the BEST meal for a cold winters night. I have cooked this several times with no complaints yet!

 1 onion, finely chopped
 2 garlic gloves, minced
 2.50 piece ginger, finely grated
 900 g minced lamb
 1 small red chilli, seeded and finely chopped
 1 tbsp ground coriander
 1 tbsp ground cumin
 1 tbsp ground turmericBuy Now

 1 tbsp tomato paste
 1 tsp tamarind paste
 300 ml chicken stock or brothBuy Now

 1 medium sweet potato, peeled and cut into chunks
 1 tbsp butter
 1 tbsp milk or cream
 Sprinkle of cheese

Heat the oil in a large pan, add the onion, garlic and ginger and fry over a medium heat until the onion is soft and just beginning to brown.

Add the minced lamb, chilli, coriander, cumin and turmeric, and fry until the meat is slightly browned.

Stir in the chopped tomato, tomato paste, tamarind paste and stock, season with salt and pepper and simmer for 30 minutes, until the mixture has thickened but is still nice and moist. Transfer the mixture to pie dishes or a larger ovenproof dish.

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.

Place the sweet potatoes in a large saucepan, bring to the boil and then simmer until tender. Drain and then mash with butter, milk, salt and pepper. Use a stick blender to get a smooth mash

Spoon the mash over the lamb mixture and mark the surface with a fork. Spinkle with cheese. Place in the oven for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown.
